Description

David Watkins was a fly-half who played for Newport and earned 21 caps for Wales between 1963 and 1967.
One of his best games was against Ireland in 1964 and his forty-yard break to score in that game was considered one of the most memorable tries ever seen.
David Watkins turned professional soon after and was considered a serious loss to the Union game.
[Based on 'Giants of Post-War Welsh Rugby', ed. by Clive Rowlands and David Farmer, 1991]
