Description

Phil Bennet played for Llanelli and earned 29 caps as a fly-half for Wales between 1969 and 1978.
Many judge him as one of the greatest fly-halves every to have worn the Welsh jersey. On a 1974 tour of South Africa he scored no less than 103 points in eleven appearances; he and Gareth Edwards share the record for most appearances at half-back for Wales (25), and he had a tremendous period as Welsh captain, winning seven matches out of eight, a run that included two Triple Crowns and a Grand Slam.
