Description

Jim Driscoll was born in 1880 into a poor family from the docks area of Cardiff. He was known as the "peerless Jim Driscoll" and in 1907 beat Joe Bowker to gain his first British Featherweight Championship.
He gained an excellent reputation in America before his career was interrupted by the war. He later returned to boxing, despite his failing health.
He died in 1925 and over 100, 000 people lined the streets of Cardiff for his funeral.
