Description

Christine Roberts sent us this photograph via our Facebook page. Christine said "Back in 1951 we had three Nigerians living with our family in Haverfordwest. They were in the UK to study local government and were in Pembrokeshire for three months. I have fond memories of them and learning about their lives and their experiences. No racism in those days."

"Mr Essell, in the photo, Mr Udoh and Mr Mbrey. This is the much read book they gave me when they left. One of them wrote me an itinerary of their journey to Haverfordwest and also gave a talk at Taskers High School, where I was a pupil. Mr. Essell later invited the family to his wedding in Nigeria!"
