My paternal Grandfather lived, with his family, and worked in the mine, in Senghenydd during this time, and I found that the images quite moving, especially the women and children waiting in hope.

The baby in the picture is my nan Gwyneth (Ives) nee Webber and her 3 elder sisters, born in Senghenydd on 12th January 1913, this picture was taken on the day of the Universal Pit disaster in October 1913.
