A photograph of Mike Alexander on top of the Mew Stone on the Southern end of the island in 1982.
Mike first visited Skomer in the Spring of 1962 when he was 13 years old. In 1965, he became the first voluntary warden along with a school friend, Brian Jones, and was later appointed Warden of Skomer from 1976 - 1986.
The Mew Stone protrudes from the sea at the Southernmost point of the island, its top is 197 feet (60 metres) above sea level.
