Description

Karen Pimbley interviews Dr Maldwyn Pate about his early life as a dancer in New York, working with Kei Takei's Moving Earth, how he came to work in Cardiff at the Welsh Arts Council as a Dance Officer and then becoming Dance Director at Arts Council Wales (the name changed from WAC to ACW in 1994).
He talks about the vibrancy of the professional dance sector in Wales consisting of Diversions (then Jumpers), smaller companies and independent choreographers making work - running alongside an emerging community dance sector - as well as his vision for dance in Wales.
