Description

A real postcard photograph showing officers of the Glamorgan Constabulary, standing at the front of Aberkenfig Police Station, situated on Pandy Road, Aberkenfig. The photograph is most likely from the Edwardian period -c.1910. The lady is most most likely to be either the police station 'matron' or the wife of the Sergeant. The Sergeant in charge of the station, would have been allocated the living quarters above. The other men were likely to have been single, unmarried men, who too would have lived within the station. *The Ross Mather Police Memorabilia of Wales Collection.
