Description

Official Programme of Eisteddfod and Concert held in a large marquee in the Castle Hotel field in Llandilo / Llandeilo, under the auspices of the Llandilo Male Voice Society on Monday, 4 September 1905

"By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', the children's eisteddfod, chapel eisteddfodau, and eisteddfodau associated with specific societies and institutions, such as this example. There are some pages missing from this programme, but you can read more about the eisteddfod in this newspaper from the period: https://newspapers.library.wales/view/4358279/4358287/76/Eisteddfod%20AND%20Llandilo
