Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of a fundraising concert, held under the auspices of the Belgian society for the relief of the Belgian wounded at the Victoria Hall (Drill Hall / Civic Hall) on Tuesday, 15 August 1916. It was held under the patronage of the Lady Dynevor, Mrs G. W. Gwynne-Hughes, The Ven. Archdeacon Williams R.D. D. Prichard- Davies Esq. JP (Chairman of the Llandilo Urban District Council), and arranged by members of Belgian artistes’ Committee, composed of singers and instrumentalists.
