Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of a Grand Concert held under the auspices of the C. M. Church at the Drill Hall (Victoria Hall / Civic Hall) by soloists on Christmas night 1918. The Chairman was D. I. Williams, Barclays Bank Llandilo / Llandeilo and the Accompanist was Miss Nancy Jones ALCM, a very prominent figure within the music scene in the town and wider area.
