Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of a Grand Concert by the ‘Royal’ Mountain Ash Glyndwr Choir at the Drill Hall (Civic Hall / Victoria Hall), Llandilo / Llandeilo, the first held on Tuesday evening on 17 April 1923 at 7.45. The only choir ever honoured to sing at the White House, Washington and before the King and Queen at Windsor Castle, 18 April 1922. The evening was conducted by Prof. T. Glyndwr Richards and the President was Lt. Col. Delme Davies-Evans DSO.
