Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of the Opera ‘Carmen’ (concert performance) and miscellaneous items by the Llandilo Choral Society, held at the Drill Hall, Llandeilo on 27 and 28 April 1927. The Presidents were Lt-Col W. N. Jones JP, Ammanford, and Lt-Col Lloyd- Harries JP, Llwyndewi. Among the artists were soloists, a chorus and a small orchestra. The conductor was P. Reynolds Daniel and the accompanist was Miss Nancy Jones.
