Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', the children's eisteddfod, and chapel eisteddfodau. The president of the day at this eisteddfod, held at the Council School in Ffairfach was Lady Philipps, Tregeyb (Tregib).
