Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the children's eisteddfod, chapel eisteddfodau, and the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', such as this example. The Presidents of the day were Lady Enid Williams - Drummond, Rhydodyn and the Venerable Archdeacon - Robert Williams M.A., Llandilo / Llandeilo. The Eisteddfod was most probably held at Market Hall.
