Description

These plaques and photographs were kindly donated to the collection.

Previously owned by David R.L Prichard of the former Cardiff City Police (shown standing on the left in the photograph). He was known as 'Bootsy', and something of a legend in the local force.

He spent most of his police service in Cardiff with the rank of Sergeant. Prior to that, he served in the Royal Marine Commandos and remained a Royal Marine Reservist until 1984 - hence the nickname.

He joined Cardiff City Police in 1964 (collar number 293 plaque)and retired from the South Wales Police in 1990 (collar number 1553).

He had 26 years police service and with accumulated military and police service, was able to retire early.
