Description
These photographs were sent to us by Gwyneth Newman who recalls her flight on the Concorde: "I was on the flight with my Mother Dilys Walker and my First Husband as a Mother's day present as my mother hadn't been in a plane before, neither had I. Best experience ever. As we were landing in Cardiff Airport the flap of the wing fell off, we only found out when it was put in the local newspaper(which I kept). For 20 year's I worked as a Carer in Cilwendeg old people's home in Boncath until they closed it in 2011 and we all were made redundant. Cilwendeg was left empty for year's until it was taken over by people that came from around Cardiff. It seems they had required this piece of the Concorde wing and made it into a coffee table. I live in Newchapel nr Boncath (formally from Star Bwlch-y-groes) and I was allowed to go and take pictures of this historical wing in Cilwendeg."
