Description

A colour photograph showing multiple groups of visitors relaxing and enjoying the sunshine at Porthkerry Country Park, in the area of the park that lies in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. In the photograph the space is dominated by green space and trees, and in the far distance the blue of the waters of the Bristol Channel can just barely be seen. To the left of the photograph people sit on benches in front of a small cluster of trees, and behind this a tent is visible at the edge of what is a very large field area. Beyond this a stand of tightly clustered trees can be seen; these lay along the edge of Cliff Wood, which just one part of the extensive woodland included in the bounds of Porthkerry. In all, the park includes over 220 acres of meadows and woodland, as well as multiple listed buildings and historic sites, nature trails, and a pebble beach.
