Description

William Bancroft (1824-1891) seated with William Bancroft (1848-1906) standing. Father and Son. Cricketers and Grounds Men for St Helen's Cricket ground, Swansea. The painting originally had two other figures standing either side of WB2 but they were painted old but are still just visible. There was a 3rd Generation William J Bancroft (aka Billy Bancroft ) and John/Jack Bancroft who also played Rugby for Swansea and Wales (not shown in painting).
