Description

Set of 5 photos from Pencader Jubilee Carnival.
These are photos my mother had in one of her albums. My grandparents lived in a house opposite the shop which I think is this one which is titled Marne Chateau, presumably the name of the house at the time (It is now named ‘Y Bryn’).
My grandfather worked in a bank in Llandysul; before the family moved to Aberteifi by1940.
Going by all the bunting I assume this was for King George V's Silver Jubilee on 6th May 1935.
The reference Marne Chateau I believe relates to a W1 battle at Marne near Ypres where a local soldier John Jenkins died (June1916). Details on following link - https://ww1.wales/carmarthenshire-memorials/pencader-war-memorial/
