Description

This photograph shows a group of Royal Navy sailors lining the route onto the Forth road bridge at the 1964 opening ceremony. HM Queen Elizabeth second is passing through onto the bridge. This photo is published in the collection of RN Sailor Gwyn Davies who was aboard the fleet flagship HMS Lion which was anchored directly beneath the bridge, as the Queen drove over to open the bridge on 4/9/1964. The image was captured from a Pathe news film, recorded at the time and published for the public to view the ceremony.
