This photograph shows local historian and town cryer, Huw Williams spotting himself in this painting by Dowlais Visual Art Group member annd anrtist, Angela Lennon. Angela painted it for an exhibition at the Dowlais Engine House in August 2023 for the Valleys Re-Told project in collaboration with Cardiff museum. Huw, a friend and supporter of the art group gave a walk & talk activity at the art groups previous exhibition at Dowlais Library in May 2023. Amongst the iconic buildings of Dowlais, Huw has been painted with several of the walkers during his talk around Dowlais. Angela’s painting will feature in a Valleys Re-Told exhibition at Cardiff Museum from May 2024 as one of the exhibits from members of the Dowlais Visual Art Group.
