Description
This is a copy of a photograph in the possession of British Army Veterans Leslie Frank Smart. Leslie served with the A company, 1st battalion, Gloucestershire regiment from 1953 to 1956. Leslie has circled his friend "Private Wood" on the photograph, which shows the soldier recruits now fully qualified in August 1954. More material and the filmed interview with Leslie can be seen in the Leslie Smart collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website.
