John "Bob" Roberts HMS Diadem model

Description

This is a photograph of Royal Navy Veteran John "Bob" Roberts looking at a model of first draft HMS Diadem. The model was made by a crew mate, later in life. By strange coincidence John came to live by the son of the model maker, long after the model maker had passed. It was when the son found out about about John's naval career that he showed him the model and the coincidence was revealed. John served aboard HMS Diadem during world war two.
