Description

In January 1937 The Mask Society put on Andre Obey's play "Noah".
The notes on nhe second page of the programme read ; "Noah" is an unusual play. It is principally in the tradition of the Mediiaeval Miracle Plays... An English version was first produced in 1935 with John Gielgud in the part of Noah.
"We have been criticised in the past for producing unusual and ambitious plays. We know that "Noah" is unusual. We admit that it is ambitious; but as we now have in Cardiff a good repertory producing London successes we feel that the amateur theatre should stage plays which would not otherwiuse be seen in the provinces"
