Description
Elsie Wilkins was a nurse who served in Belgium with Edith Cavell, who set up a network to repatriate British soldiers who were marooned behind enemy lines. Ted Scarrett and a companion were reputed to be the last soldiers to be repatriated by Cavell's network before she was arrested by the Germans and subsequently executed. This letter was sent from Cardiff by Elsie Wilkins to Sgt Scarrett.
