Description

Ivor Tudor Rees (b.1888) and his brother Thomas Hector Rees (b.1890) were both South Wales miners, living in Nantgarw, before joining the Royal Army Service Corps: this photograph shows Ivor (standing) and Thomas (kneeling) on the right. Another brother, George Jacob Rees, served in the army and was killed in September 1918. Both Ivor (aged 43) and Thomas (aged 48) also died young, of lung disease.
