Description

Private John Llewellyn Job of Manselton served with the East Lancashire Regiment in Salonika, Greece, where he died on 15 September 1916. Although his death certificate states he was "killed in action", the family is that he was stranded for days in no-man's land and died after eating berries he found there which made him ill. Pictured here are the official confirmation of death from the Regimental Paymaster, and his death certificate from the War Office, dated 23 October 1916.
