Description

John Louis Hyacinth Jacquet was born in Swansea in 1867: his surname came from his French father (Louis Jacquet, born in Nantes). He joined the Royal Engineers during the First World War - the family story is that he hoped to meet his relatives in France. He died aged 50 on 27 December 1917 and is buried in Mory Abbey Military Cemetery in Northern France.
