Description

Although he was thoroughly Welsh, David Lloyd George, Prime Minister of the UK from December 1916, was actually born in Manchester. It is understandable therefore that the Manchester Welsh were keen to honour him, as they did at Manchester's Albert Hall on 12 September 1918. The programme for the event shows that it consisted of a mixture of speeches and hymns, crowned by the singing of the Welsh National Anthem.
