Description

Salt Island (Ynys Halen), an island just off the main island at Holyhead, was where salt was processed from sea water. As can be seen by this aerial photograph from 2003, almost all the island is used as a passenger, car and freight terminal and berths for ferries to and from Ireland. Click to enlarge image.
