Description

This cottage is one of only a few remaining that housed slate workers who came to the Delta area to produce Peach Bottom Slate. There are four stone cottages built in a style typical of industrial workers' Welsh housing and are identical to those found in the slate villages of Gwynedd, apart from the distinctive colouring of the local stone used to build them.
Two of the four cottages at Coulsontown are owned by the Old Line Museum, Delta and are being restored as a living musuem, complette with furnishings typical of a local slate quarryman and his family during the 1850s.
