Description

Blaenpennal chapel was built in 1783, but its origins lie in the work of the Rev. Phylip Pugh (1679-1760), who was born at nearby Hendre, where he licensed a meeting house for Presbyterian worship. Amongst those who came to Hendre looking for guidance was the young Daniel Rowland, Llangeitho. Although he was not a Methodist himself, Pugh advised Rowlands on his preaching style and had a major influence on his later success as a preacher. It was out of the Methodist Revivial inspired by Rowland from his pulpit at Llangeitho that Blaenpennal was founded. The
