Description
Captain Rowland Lloyd mariner from Barmouth, son of the local Dr Hugh Lloyd.
He travelled the world working for various companies including the Royal Mail Steam Packet Co.
During the First World War he served in the Royal Naval Reserve transporting and protecting convoys in the Atlantic, Mediteranean and Baltic seas.
He received several awards for his services during this time and documented his life aboard ship in his diaries and photos.
