Description

Can anyone help me with the date this photo was taken and the exact site on the hospital grounds? My auntie Grace Elizabeth Body is the Matron. I see by maps.google.com that to the left is a pathway with the hospital on the right. There are two garages one white and one brick. There is a building which looks very much like the one in the photo, but unfortunately that side cannot be seen. i think it must be 1930/40?
The nurses,sisters, one male staff, Mr R W Scanlon, Mr Aubrey and my auntie Matron G E Body. N. Rogers, N.Collins, N. Purnell,N. Hinder, N. Nash, N.Jenkins, N. R Jones, N.Janes, N. Haycock,N.H.Jones, N. Bowditch, N. Judge, N.Price, N Szabo,N. Priddy, N.Perry

From the style and pattern of uniforms I would put this as more likely late 1940s early 1950s.Male nurses were rare in General hospitals prewar but started to slowly appear post war.Nice image.
