Description

The Caerphilly & District Miners Hospital was purchased by subscription taken from miners in the area. It was once a manor house called 'The Beeches' and was owned by Frederick Pigott, a mining engineer. The hospital opened in 1923, was taken over by the National Health in 1948 and was closed in 2011.
