Description

Edwin Cross sent a large number of photographs to his sister Muriel during the First World War, showing scenes he witnessed while serving in India with the Machine Gun Corps. The image shows a soldier on the wall of a Dhobi Ghat: the inscription on the back reads " 'Dhobi Ghat' where our clothes are washed. Near Abbottabad, Oct 1917". [Abbottabad, India - now Pakistan].
