Description

Edwin Cross sent a large number of photographs to his sister Muriel during the First World War, showing scenes he witnessed while serving in India with the Machine Gun Corps. The image shows a Sikh mountain battery at drill: the inscription on the back reads: "Sihk [sic.] mountain battery at drill. Abbotabad. Oct 1917"
