Description
Edwin Cross sent a large number of photographs to his sister Muriel during the First World War, showing scenes he witnessed while serving in India with the Machine Gun Corps. These photographs show a young elephant: the inscription on the back reads "A baby elephant having its morning bath, Nasirabad June 1919".
