Description
One of a series of full length photographs of young women. This portrait shows a young woman smartly dressed, suggesting that she is about to attend, or had just attended a grand occasion. The backdrop, which seems to be a stage curtain, gives it a very theatrical air. It seems uncertain whether this is indeed what it seems to be - a young woman dressed up for the occasion of having her portrait taken, or whether it might be a portrait of a young girl who acted a part in a theatrical production.
