Description

One of a series of uniformed male portraits by local photographer Rousham Roberts. Mr Patterson is wearing the uniform of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. The regimental badge, an exploding grenade, on his collar signifies his membership to the Royal Artillery. The convention of photographing sitters in different positions, with different expressions was a device used by the photographer to ensure the best portrait.
