Description

Logaulas Lead Mine is a very ancient and productive mine. The mine was active from 1768 - 75, from the latter date it seems to have been drowned. In 1785 Level Fawr was commenced, intended to drain this mine and other workings, and work continued until 1810. Further work followed from 1824, with the main period of working being from 1834 - 91. Surface remains include several shaft mouths, areas of tipping, traces of two wheelpits and substantial linear opencut workings.
