Description

The Great Western railway line forms the northern boundary to the wood. It was built in the mid 1800s and is now the Cardiff to Swansea mainline. At the end of the 19th century both Ely and St Fagans possessed stations. Ely station was set next to Ely Bridge while St Fagans station was next to where Michaelston Road crosses the railway line today.
