Description

This round tower located between the twin lakes of Padarn and Peris (so named after two earlier Welsh princes) near Llanberis, was built sometime around the 1230's by Llewelyn ap Iorweth to guard the inland route from Caernarfon to the upper Conwy valley, located at the base of the formidable Llanberis Pass.
