The annual Cymanfa/Conferenc.e of the Welsh American Women will be held at the William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, June 24, 25,26. Mrs. Sidney L. Davies is the general chairman and the national Vice- President; Mrs. John Lloyd Taggart is the secretary and treasurer. The clubs from Pittsburgh, Homestead, McKeesport Carnegie, New Kensington and Aliquippa are taking cme of visitors' needs. On Friday, April25 the Governor Arthur H. James will speak on'?reparedness for Defense" in our city. He was introduced by Edgar Lewis, President of Jones & Laughlin. Mostyn Thomas was there as well. At the Welsh Society meeting, Prof. Job gave a lecture on (Modern Welsh Literature.'He is the nephew of the Chaired Bard, Job of Carmarthen, South Wales. He spent much time ln sharp criticlsm of 6How Green was My VaIIey'and 6The Corn is Green.' [1941 -Hottywood premierl. He reviewed the historical book by Prof. T. Gwynn Jones of Aberystnryth Univeruity about Queen Etizabeth. Some observations on the Welsh revivalist-Rowlands of Llengeithor llowell Ilarris and his co- workers who wene perfectly at home in the Welsh language.
