Description

This shows the rank of Master Sergeant B.94 (4 stripes). A rank used in the Glamorgan Constabulary for a short period of time. The rank appeared in the mid 1890s and was withdrawn as a rank c.1905. The practice of assigning a "letter" to each division had been introduced in 1894 (Divisional letter B was for Pontypridd Division). The kepi badge bears the Crown of Queen Victoria. So this photo can be dated with some confidence to between 1894 and 1901.
