Description

Jane Couzens (later became Jane Phillips) seen on the left served as a cook in an army base most likely in the Nottingham area. Originally from Angle, Pembrokeshire she was determined to become part of the 'WAC's' (Women’s Army Corps) as soon she was old enough. Here she is 18 years old and it is most likely than she and her friend borrowed men's uniform to pose for the photograph. c1914-1916
