Description

In 1957 Frankie Vaughan, a famous singer and avid supporter of the Boys’ Clubs, visited Nantymoel Boys Club (MEM)

Many came to the mem that night, some were hanging on to the railings in the hope that they might see him. One fan remembers thinking how handsome he was and another felt that royalty had arrived in Nantymoel.

During the night Frankie sang many songs which drove the crowd wild. Not even a technical issue with the mics could ruin this very special night at the Mem. During the evening Frankie Vaughan was presented with an engraved Miners Lamp, we presume, as a thank-you for his ongoing support for the NABC.
