Description

A baton carried by R.L. Murray Lawes, 'Gold Staff Officer' at the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, May 12th 1937. Approx 21 inches long. A senior army officer, he would have had responsiblity for ushering the congregation within Westminster Abbey. Also with the baton is a small wooden plaque. Part of my personal collection.
