Description

Members of the Welsh Heavy Battery Royal Garrison Artillery in retreat after the 1st battle of the Somme – the men in the photo all came from Caernarfon and Bangor and were foraging for food.
The only living survivor is on the extreme left (with the cat) Mr Williams of Hendre St, Carnarfon.
